I’m beginning to like my life here, even if I’m so occupied, but I know that things will get better years later. I have to sacrifice some of the “luxury” stuffs I did before, but hopefully I will have more time for that when the business stabilized.

Anything about me has to be pushed aside to make ways for my kids and hubby. I spend more time at the kitchen to ensure that they are eating healthily while hubby brings the kids for a swim or to the playground. When I have my free time, I knit for them. I didn’t even have time for exercising, so I think I’m getting fatter soon! LOL! Maybe it’s time to get to the gym and spend some time on the elliptical. We have gym facility here, and I don’t even have time to go there.

Hopefully, I will have time for exercising soon.

One of a child I know almost had an accident last night. She was running with a pencil in her hand but she tripped and fell to the floor. Her naturally reflex was to support her body with her hands, but she almost puked the pencil into her eye. Gosh, it was a scary sight and her parents were so shocked to see that.

I keep telling my kids not to run around with a sharp object in their hands, even if it’s one of those round pointed promotional pens. It’s best to be safe than sorry. I remembered that that was a news about a girl accidentally killed herself when she tripped with a chopstick in her hand. So, anything can happen in just a split of second.

Personally, I think a degree is important. But if my kids have other plans than going to university, I will try my best to respect their decision. Going to hair schools might offers a good career too since professional hairstylist is a great profession now. I know a few successful onces who make close to RM1000 for rebounding too!

Anyway, as long as my kids have found their dreams and passions in their future career, they will have my full support. I don’t want them to end up in university and getting a job that sunken them all day long. Working life doesn’t have to be that borin, ok?

I hate food bribery, but by all means, it works sometimes. My kids are feeding on junks more than usual since the day we started bring them to work. Like most children, they can easily get bored with the little office space and will surely mess things around. Thus, everyone likes to feed them food so that they can be quiet for a while.

I know that I should offer them healthy snacks, but they <strike>have long been corrupted</strike> won’t take it. So, it’s best to keep them busy instead of offering them more junks which are totally useless.

Another thing is, their grandparents like to offer them food so that they will behave as well. Food bribery is getting harder if it’s done by older generation as I don’t have any control about that. Gosh….I think I just have to find a balance point when it comes to food bribery. As long as they eat well at normal meal times, I better stop being so paranoid about it.

Wherever I go, most people will tell me that my kids are really clingy to me. I know that they have always acted like this since they were babies, and at first I thought it was due to breastfeeding. They wanted to have comfort nursing most of the time, and mommy was spending a lot of time at home.

However, things might not be as good as before when I’ve started helping out in hubby’s office. My kids are still clingy to me but they have slowly gotten the idea that I can’t be there all the time.

I hope that I will have more time for them at night, but sadly, I am too busy at home too. Maybe they are being clingy because of insecurity. They just want mommy to have more time for time, undisturbed and uninterrupted. It’s not like they are going to cling on to me forever huh? So I will just let them be clingy (when I’m free).

Things have been going well in Bangkok these days and even if I’m busier than ever, I am really happy with our new home and new life. For the time being, I only want my kids to cope well staying in a foreign land and help my hubby in building his business. I might not be able to help him as much as I want to, but I will do my best.

Maybe I should go back to school mba to gain more knowledge in how to manage our business huh? If it can be done online, it might not be too hard for me to achieve. But then again, it might be too tiring for me now.

Maybe someday I will get an MBA. Who knows? It’s too hard to tell the future.

I like to bring my kids to the playground but the one we have at our neighborhood is not as big and challenging as the ones we have back home in Malaysia. My kids felt bored with it pretty fast so they rather spend time playing at the sandpit than playing at the playset now.

I just hope that we can have one of those manfred mantis playsets in our neighborhood so that all the children in our area can have more fun playing together. Kids learn through play and a well built playset is not only a gigantic toy, but it is a tool to build up a kid’s physical level and confidence as well.

Too bad I don’t have a big compound in my house, if not it will be nice to place a playset there. But anyway, it’s not like I can afford to have one now. LOL! But don’t you want to have one at home if you have the space and money? It will be a fun game for both parents and kids.

Most of our friends and relatives are pretty concerned about our kids staying here with us in Bangkok. They follow us to work everyday, and will only go home in the late evening when everyone is exhausted. We haven’t enrolled into preschool yet, so some people think that they are wasting time and not learning anything.

Frankly, at our current situation, we can’t possibly send them to a Thai preschool yet. They can’t understand anything except sawatdeeka and krob kun ka. LOL! That’s too little for Thai language.

Besides that, we don’t want them to feel the pressure of going to school when they are adjusting to a new environment. I know that they might not be learning fast as their peers back home, but I’m glad that they don’t have to go through the tough and competitive learning environment in a typical Chinese schools in Malaysia anymore. They will be going to international school for elementary years, and it is going to be so much fun learning at school.

I just hope that we will have more time to bring the kids around, but we can only rest on Sundays. It’s pretty tiring for us and we still haven’t bought our own car. My boy keeps telling us to buy a bus but that’s only a kiddie talk. LOL! Anyway, we are doing fine here, so don’t worry ya? My friends…

I found it surprising that stem cell technology is not that commonly known in Bangkok yet. My SIL didn’t store her baby’s stem cell as she wasn’t aware about this when she gave birth to her 5 months ago. Over back home, most parents are aware about this but it is a personal choice to or not to store your baby’s stem cell. It can be easily done that way and it is totally painless for both mother and baby.

Nonetheless, women can still do this again since stem cell can be harvested from menstrual fluid. The stem cell can then be transformed into different types of cells such as cardiac, neural as well as bone cell. Nonetheless, the cost of future stem cell therapies is not included.

But if you are interested to know more about C’elle Stem Cell Research Innovation, check out the link for more information. Take a look at C’elle Client Testimonial if you are still not convinced about this. By all means, if you can afford it, why not?

When my kids are babies, it’s so easy to feed them. They would just eat anything I prepared and they hardly split out the food or run away from the table. Wait a minute, they were babies, they couldn’t run nor walk yet! LOL!

But now, meal times can be pretty challenging. Like most kids, they don’t like all types of vegetables, so it’s trial and error to me when I cook for them. Broccoli is their best choice, but I prefer to add more variety instead of feeding one type of veggie.

Thus, one of my ways of introducing the vegetables is by preparing vegetable soups. Like most Chinese, we believe that soups are great for health as most of the nutrients are dissolved in the water in boiling process. The veggie or meat might be tasteless when the soup is ready if you boil it for long hours, so if you want to keep the veggie crunchy and fresh, don’t boil it for too long. My kids love to take the soup too, so even if they don’t take the veggie occasionally, I’m not too worried about it. They take fruits everyday and fruits are a good source of fiber and other nutrients.

Some Celery and corn from my vegetable soup

If possible, steamed veggie is the best to ensure that most of the nutrients are not lost. For a busy mother like me, I would just place a bowl of broccoli, cube potatoes and carrots on the top shelve of the rice cooker when I’m cooking the rice. By the time the rice is ready, the veggies are well steamed too. Pretty simple huh?
