Wedding Dress

I had no intention to watch the royal wedding initially, but as soon as I reached home that evening, I caught myself gluing to the TV just in time to see Kate walking down the aisle. Gosh, isn’t she lovely? I must say that I love her wedding dress which is simply classic and elegant. Some might be expecting more extravagant wedding dresses but I think Sarah Burton, the creative director of Alexander McQueen made a great job in Kate’s wedding dress.

I can foresee that a lot of bridal shops have started producing similar designs for new brides.

Mother’s Day is coming!

I love jewelry, but I can’t buy much. I can only drool. :( Nonetheless, I bought something for my mom during a fair a couple of months ago, and she loves the bangle. Last weekend, both of us went shopping and got ourselves a ring each, and oh boy, she adores it!

Since Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and if you haven’t got a gift for your mother, do consider getting her a piece of jewelry. It doesn’t have to be something expensive which blows your budget, it’s the love and affection in getting her the gift that counts. Check out these Mother’s Day Jewelry if you are interested. This store is having a Mother’s Day sale with 15% off on all jewelry. Just use this promotional code B2011M when you are checking out at the shopping cart, and the promotion ends on 15 May 2011.

My mom doesn’t fancy any flower shaped or heart shaped jewelry but something simple like this pair of earrings:

She prefers classic and elegant designs, and something that she can wears daily. But too bad that I’m out of budget this time, and since she has already got a bangle from me, let’s skip this ok mommy? LOL!

She’s still here with us until tomorrow, so maybe we will go out for dinner as an early Mother’s Day celebration. It’s been years since we last celebrated Mother’s Day with her, and I hope that all of us will have a nice one this time.

Wedding in Sing

One of hubby’s cousins is getting married soon, and we have just received her wedding invitation via Facebook. Yes, FACEBOOK! LOL!

I’m not sure if we are attending as the wedding is held in Singapore, so that depends a lot on the kids school schedule and if hubby can get some days off. No point just fly to Singapore for a wedding and fly back here again. If time permits, we should stay for a few more days and spend a short vacation there.

Even if we can’t make it to the wedding, I’m sure that we can see lots of photos of her wedding in Facebook. I hope that she has got all her wedding favors and arrangement done, and she will get the perfect wedding gown! Hey, it’s one in a life time thingy, so the bride must really get the right dress and all the elegant favors she wishes for. :)

So, I shall mark my calendar, and see if we can really make it to her wedding in September.

Any Plan for Valentine’s Day?

All the while, I don’t really have special plans for Valentine’s Day. Before we have kids, hubby and I would go our for dinner on Valentine’s but most of the time, it would be uneventful because I complained too much about the slow service and lousy food. :P Thus, we could not be bothered to make plans anymore, but just give each other a simple gift.

Maybe I haven’t gone to those New York Restaurants or any fancy restaurants that were given good credits for their food and services, so I haven’t had a pleasant Valentine’s dinner. Anyway, it’s impossible for hubby and I to go out alone, unless we have babysitters to watch our kids!

Feeling Good

I like my life here in Bangkok, and most importantly, my kids are adapting well. Even if I’ve slowly got back to my shopping life, I still don’t have time for my previous sui lai lai hobbies like medicure, pedicure, hairdo and my regular facial. LOL! It might take some time before I can get back to those pampering moments especially I’ve started working now. Once my kids have started school, maybe I will have some time for that, if I can sneak out from the office once in a while. LOL!

Thus, for the time being, I can only settle with DIY and pray that my skin is not getting worse. I might need a blemish acne cream for that one pimple which is bothering me, but then again, I might just go back home to see my beautician.

You might not think that self pampering is important, but personally, if I don’t feel good about myself, I will be really cranky. If I am feeling great, I will always be in a good mood and I’m a happy mother. Funny hoh? Some women can’t forgo their looks but I just can’t. It’s just not ME.

Boring Life?

A friend of mine is pretty bored with her life now. I know how it feels to be at home all the way and the only thing she’s looking forward to is waiting for her husband to be back home. She doesn’t have kids yet, so it can be rather boring that she stays at home by herself all day long. Frankly, I wonder why she quit her job so soon after married.

Maybe she can just look for small business for sale and see if she can pick up anything that suits her budget and interests? If not, she can just concentrate on getting pregnant. I really don’t know what can I suggest to her because more importantly, she should discuss with her husband about her feelings.

Being her friend, I can only lend her my ears.

Stem Cell Technology

I found it surprising that stem cell technology is not that commonly known in Bangkok yet. My SIL didn’t store her baby’s stem cell as she wasn’t aware about this when she gave birth to her 5 months ago. Over back home, most parents are aware about this but it is a personal choice to or not to store your baby’s stem cell. It can be easily done that way and it is totally painless for both mother and baby.

Nonetheless, women can still do this again since stem cell can be harvested from menstrual fluid. The stem cell can then be transformed into different types of cells such as cardiac, neural as well as bone cell. Nonetheless, the cost of future stem cell therapies is not included.

Lactating Chinese Policewoman Breastfeeding Earthquake Babies

I’ve wanted to write about this when I first came across the news, but as you know, I have been pretty busy lately. Nonetheless, it’s not too late to do so as I really admire the selflessness of Jiang Xiaojuan, 29, in helping the other babies. She is a policewoman, and some people think that it’s not appropriate for her to expose herself in public. But at times like this, she was just acting on her mother instinct in providing those babies with milk, comfort and security. Her 6 months old then was being taken care by her mother as she was on duty. She is instantly became “China’s Mother No. 1.” after the news was spread, but Jiang didn’t think that it’s a big deal breastfeeding the babies of disaster at all.

Frankly, I’m so touched by how she’s helping out at a hard time like this in Szechuan.

Stem Cell from Menstrual Blood

When I was younger, I really wondered why should we have menstrual cycle every 28 days as it was so troublesome and I couldn’t enjoy my regular swimming or ballet as usual. But once I’ve become a mother, I started to appreciate this wonderful cycle which allows me to enjoy motherhood if I get pregnant at the right time.

Nonetheless, I’ve never thought that menstrual fluid can be harvested for its stem cell and be used for regeneration of useful cell. We stored our daughter’s stem cell when she was delivered. There is a cancer history in my family, so I thought we might just keep it.

But even if you are late to do so for your daughters or yourself, you can still keep the stem cell from your menstrual blood which has always been treated as a waste. Just check out the link if you are interested to know All About C’elle. I found that the introductory price is quite affordable, so besides getting your Celle Order Now, you can also Become C’elle Distributor if you are from US. I don’t think we have this service here yet, but who knows, it might be available one day.

Woman Health Issues

I haven’t seen my gynae for some time. The last time I went to his clinic was a few months ago for pap smears test. Like some women, I don’t feel like seeing my gynae most of the time, unless it’s necessary. If I need to find out more about woman health issues.

One of the websites which provides such information is AskMyGyn, and it doesn’t only provide articles about woman health, you can also ask their certified gynecologists about anything until you are totally satisfied with their answers. Of course, you might need to pay a small amount of consultation fee, but they will refund the fee to you if you are not satisfied with the information provided. On top of that, AskMyGyn.com will donate 25 cents to Doctors Without Borders for every question asked. So, you are not only getting the information needed, you are helping some victims of war and disaster indirectly in getting the medical attention needed by volunteered doctors and nurses as well.

So, if you have any question about birth control, pap smears, vaginal infection or breast care, just check out the articles or ask the gynecologists at AskMyGyn.com.
