HypnoBirthing

I have really low pain threshold, that’s why I made up my mind to go for epidural since the moment I knew I was pregnant. I knew about hypnobirthing, but I dare not give it a try. However, if I’m pregnant again, I might want to grab this book and learn more about it.

HypnoBirthing® teaches you how to use your mind to relax your body. When your mind and body are relaxed, you eliminate fear. Without fear, there is no tension in your muscles. Without tension, there is no pain!

See? It’s fear. I was too worried that I couldn’t take the pain so I chose for medical intervention  even if I might not need it. But I will learn more about this, if I’m expecting baby again.

Show Off Your Bumps

I talked to a new mother at my yoga class days ago. She continued her yoga as usual during her pregnancy, and we met each other very often. She’s one of those pregnant mothers who didn’t wear big size maternity wear, and I think she looked great. I didn’t get a lot of those modern maternity wear last time, so if I get pregnant again, I want to look chic and nice!

If you are thinking about showing off your bump, check out those maternity clothes from Mothersenvogue.com. I used to shop from them a lot since their nursing clothes are pretty nice. See? You can look great showing off your bumps in both office and casual wears.

Looking For Maternity Swimsuit

One of my friends asked me what kind of exercise did I do when I was pregnant. During my first pregnancy, I swam a lot. I didn’t get a maternity swimsuit at first but only put on my 2 piece swimsuits. But after 6 months of gestation, MIL was not happy seeing me showing off my bump, so I got myself a maternity swimsuit from the store. Too bad I didn’t find anything as nice as those swimsuit from Maternal Welness Inc, if not I would get this nice blue flowery swimsuit.

Thus, a pregnant mother can still look good in anything as long as you put in the effort to shop for the things you need. Just don’t let give up on dressing up even if you gain more weight that you have expected. If you are going for a holiday, just make sure that you get the green light from your doctor, and as long as you are not more than 32 weeks of gestation, you can still go on flight to places like Hawaii. But before you go, check out the necessary information about places to go or activities that are safe for an expecting mother from Kauai Travel Blog and Oahu Vacation Info. Get those Hawaii home rentals which are convenient to the places you would like to visit, and make sure that it has a local clinic that you can visit to if you need any help.

So, any mothers want to buy that maternity swimsuit? I found a few designs that I make me wonder if I should get pregnant again. LOL! But maybe not.

Planning for a Baby

No, I’m not talking about me planning about a baby. LOL! But for my first child, I did some planning before conceiving my boy, and if I’m not mistaken, these are part of my plan:

  • Eat well, exercise well and stay happy most of the time
  • Take folic acid and multi vitamin 6 months before conception
  • Hubby took some zinc supplements too
  • Asked hubby to cut down on smoking and alcohol
  • Did medical check up, for both hubby and I
  • Monitor my menstrual cycle

So, do you plan for your baby?

The Effect of Computer Radiation on Pregnant Mothers

I’m using the computer a lot and I do worry about the effect of radiation. Luckily I only get hooked up with blogging excessively after having my kids. LOL!

If I’m pregnant now, I would try my best to stay away from the PC for long hours. It’s impossible to avoid using the PC, but I will try my best to minimize the effect of radiation, especially the first 3 months. But if computers are bad, then how about microwave, handphone, TV, or just anything with radiation?

Anyway in moderation is still the best. Since I’m not pregnant, let me get excessively addicted with my laptop or PC now. LOL!

Prenatal Music, Did You Do It?

I have a disc man which I bought when I was pregnant with my first child. I thought of placing the headphone over my belly and have some prenatal session with him. Then, I was advised by my trainer in previous company not to do so as she said there was a baby born deaf by doing so. O.o

I’m not sure if it’s only a coincidence, but I decided not to take the risk and forget about placing the headphone over my belly and used the HiFi instead. Being a first time mother, I was not a risk taker!

So after being kept for so long in the cabinet, I’m not sure what am I going to do with the disc man. It’s all about iPod now and it’s easier to use it as well as I can easily store up the songs in it. But I haven’t got one, and I’m just thinking about it. Maybe new mothers can just get the iPod from Your Electronic Warehouse and get a better headphone by joining the iPod Earphone/Headphone Trade In Program because it will help you to save up some money. But to or not to use the headphone over your belly is another thing! I’m just skeptical about what I heard as well since so many prenatal materials are promoting babies in the womb to listen to the music with headphones! So, did you do it?

Anyway, just don’t play golf during pregnancy. I played a bit during the first trimester and I was scolded by MIL. :P

So, forget about getting anything related to golf from Discount Golf World first. Do it after the baby is out. Golf is great at losing weight.

Home Birth

I was reading the article about home birth just now, and I realized that I know this mother from MyMomsBest. She’s very brave and I admire her courage of having a home birth at home. Of course, she did a lot of preparation for it, and it’s not an accidental home birth incidents.

That is the kind of courage I lack in labour. I don’t feel secure giving birth without any doctors or medical intervention. Furthermore, I fear about the pain of labor. That’s why I opt for epidural. But it’s the fear that makes the mother feel the pain most of the time. We are too panic and worried about labor then letting nature take its course.

Even if I’m pregnant again, I still go to the hospital. Home birth is not for me.

Shopping for Baby Products

One of the happiest moment in my life is when I knew that I was expecting a baby. I was so excited about it I quickly shopped for maternity clothes, baby clothes and toys and other baby products. Frankly, I bought a lot of stuffs in a rush without checking out if they are necessary. The bottles that I bought were not been used at all as I breastfed my baby. I got so much handed down baby clothes, those that I bought were hardly been worn.

So, if you are expecting, you better check out the reviews and rating on the products at these baby stores. These are real mothers sharing their views on the products, instead of some commercials that only tell you how good their products are. So, make sure you make a list and consider if the baby products are necessary before buying them. It will save you a lot of money.

Maternity Insurance

I didn’t get any Pregnancy Care insurance, so I am a bit regretted about it, especially for my second pregnancy. I was having some complication with placenta previa, and thus I was in and out of hospital and getting jabs on weekly basis until 16 weeks of pregnancy. We used a lot of money during that period of time, and everyone knows that normal health insurance will not cover it.

So, if you are pregnant, it’s better to have a maternity insurance that tailored specifically for expectant mothers. I might get one if I’m getting another baby.

Rushing for a Wedding?

I have some friends who got pregnant before they are married. It is more common to be single mothers in western countries, but it is not a popular norm in ours yet. So, most of the time, the new mothers will rush for a wedding as soon as possible, before their bumps are getting obvious.

Even if you are rushing for a wedding, don’t forget to get a nice wedding ring for yourself. If you are wondering where to get the rings from, White Flash has a lot of nice rings to be offered. I love diamonds, especially those above one carat and nicely cut. No matter which type of stones you are looking for, White Flash is dedicated in helping you to get the stones at your preference.

Since I’m already married, I can’t get another wedding ring. *touch wood* I don’t want another wedding ring! But then, I am browsing through the website, looking at the nice rings and I’m thinking, will hubby get me one of those anniversary rings every day for many years to come?
