Buying a House in Thailand

I did some research about lawyer tucson last night and found some Thai law firms which help foreigner in buying houses in Thailand. Not that I need one now as it’s only applicable if you are getting a landed property, a land, or trying to lease the land. These law firms can provide some legal advice on how to get it done, and they make the transaction easier too.

But if you are married to a Thai nation, then things are way much easier in buying a house in Thailand. Too bad neither of us is Thai!

Franchises

A couple of weeks ago, hubby and I went checking out the fair about franchise opportunities in Thailand, but I personally feel that there wasn’t anything great. I started my first biz with a franchise and it did make things easier for starters.

My favorite stall was the one from Malaysia, it’s teh tarik and roti canai! LOL! Not that I have any intention of starting a biz but I enjoyed buying the food! LOL! Luckily, there is one franchised unit at the mall I frequently visit. Roti canai, here I come!

Hajime Robot Restaurant

I tend to over eat lately, so I wonder if I should go for no carbo diet for a couple of weeks? Or just get some weight loss pills that work? I know that I don’t have much discipline when it comes to losing weight. Why? It’s because I love food too much!

Last Saturday, we went to a cool restaurant in Bangkok, where there are 2 robots serving your orders. It’s Hajime Robot Restaurant, and my kids were so thrilled with the robots. Again, the adults were there for food, mainly for buffet steamboat. Needless to say, yours truly really ate her heart out. O.o

Too bad I didn’t bring my camera along, so I just snapped the photos with my iPhone. As much as I love my phone, but I don’t like the photo quality. :p

Gosh, I’m going for a stay-ation this weekend. I better don’t eat my heart out again!

Happy Mother’s Day in Thailand

It’s Mother’s Day in Thailand tomorrow, so most of us will have a long weekend. Yours truly here is taking the opportunity to fly back home so that I won’t have to skip work a lot. Furthermore, hubby can easily send me to the airport if he has the day off.

My mom should be quite happy that I’m flying back to celebrate Mother’s Day with her, even if it falls on a different day back home. I won’t get her any fancy flowers nor gift. She is very practical, she would love it if I can buy gold coins for her. LOL! However, knowing her well, a good dinner together will work fine as well. :)

Renewed Insurance

I’ve just written the cheque to renew my car insurance, for the second year. It’s been 2 years since we have the car, and so far so good, it’s not giving me any problem except the day when the battery was totally dead. I thought that I would have a day off that morning, but who knows, hubby called the mechanic to our house and got the car repaired! Then, the first thing he said over the phone was, “dear, now get back to work.” :P

I’m not sure if I’ve got the best car insurance deal as SIL handled the quotation for me. It seems like this price is cheaper than the previous quote. Before I moved here, I won’t even think about getting the best car insurance, or if the car has to be sent for auto service and such. We highly depended on FIL’s ex-driver to settle our cars back home. He would come and bring the cars for service and repair if needed, and he would even get the best car insurance deal and renew for us.

Throughout those years, I had never even opened the bonnet of our cars to check the battery water level, let alone bring them for annual service! But now, hubby and I have to do this on our own. No joke driving a car which is not performing well on the busy roads in Bangkok!

SHOPPING!

Yes, it’s shopping time!

Firstly, Lil Hunny Bunny is having a promotion where you will get 20% off on the second item you order. FREE shipping is given within Malaysia too, so don’t miss it ya?

On the other hand, Bento Craft has a few new arrivals, and I’ve already made my orders! I’m still waiting for more bento boxes coming into this store, so hopefully, I have more bento gadgets to share. :)

BTW, I’m going to give myself a short break, during my lunch hour and do some shopping. :P I’m supposed to do some banking anyway, so spending a few more minutes for retail therapy won’t affect much. LOL! Not going to get any garden lights, but some flowery dresses and big water gun. I can’t celebrate Songkran without a water gun, you know? :)

Hub’s Cousin

Hubby has a cousin who died of drug abuse more than 20 years ago. He was the only son in the family, and being a typical traditional Chinese, his mother adored him more than other siblings. He got on drug due to peer pressure, and when his parents found out about it, they kept quiet and protected their son, instead of sending him off to rehab. They are not very well educated, and didn’t want to take the advice from other relatives.

Furthermore, the condition of the rehab centers during that time was not well equipped, thus they did the wrong decision of not sending their son for treatment. If they have known of rapid detox center, maybe they would make the right decision. Rapid detox compresses 8 days of quitting process into a few hours, thus the withdrawal is claimed to be minimal. This procedure is done by an anesthesiologist doctor with 20 years of experience, so maybe it’s worth a shot.

Until today, this auntie still has tears in her eyes when she speaks of her son. He died before he turned 20.

Happy Chinese New Year!

As expected, I have been too busy to fix anything fancy this week. My kids have only fruit bentos mostly, but they didn’t complain about it. *phew!*

We will be expecting our guests tomorrow and after that we will be off to Hua Hin beach for our Chinese New Year holiday. I guess I will only update the blog some time next week. :)

I would like to wish everyone:

Happy Chinese New Year

King’s Birthday and Father’s Day in Thailand

Our kids had a mini concert in celebrating of the King’s birthday and Father’s Day in Thailand today. Father’s Day is celebrated on 5th December, but not on the 3rd Sunday of June.

MIL is here for a few weeks, so she joined us to school to watch their performance. No photos can be shared yet and I don’t have the time to upload them from the Logo usb drive. We woke up very early today, and I’m so tired the whole day, even if I’m not performing. LOL!

Anyway, I just want to wish all the fathers in Thailand a very happy Father’s Day, and Long Live The King.

P/S: FYI, I’m not Thai, but a Malaysian expatriate who stays in Bangkok. *wink*
