In progress

Honestly, I’m getting tired of telling people that my condo is not completely ready, even if we’ve moved in for almost 2 months. The renovation stopped since Chinese New Year, and I can hardly get a glimpse of the renovation workers. Besides not being able to cook at the kitchen, we have got used to the place. :P

As much as I loathe at the progress, I must say that the interior designer is good at picking the wall colors. The wall lights make the place look warm and cosy, and it feels good to be home every evening. The only thing that puzzles me was his choice of outdoor wall sconces which was installed at our hallway. Initially, I thought they are weird. But now, I’ve got used to it, and they are quite unique to be placed indoor.

Most importantly, I like the modern chandelier he chose for our dining area. It’s not big, but it’s nice. I would pick a bigger one but it might end up getting too close to our table. LOL! Our ceiling is not that tall actually.

I’m aware that they have a couple of projects on hand at the same time especially after the flood. As much as I’m very angry with them not completing my condo in time as promised, but my sinus healed during their absent. It’s not easy living with the mess and dust!

Hopefully, they will return to my place and get the rest of the renovation done soon. After that, I will change my lock and start inviting friends over!

Living with reno

The kids and I are down with running nose, which I suspect it’s not only due to flu bug but also the dust and mess in the condo. With the renovation going on still, the condo is quite dusty, despite my effort in cleaning up as soon as I reach home. I can’t do it during school or office hour, so the kids have to endure the mess with me, while waiting for me to clean up the mess.

I need a good edible get well present! Please send me some nice basket of fruits. :P

Christmas is coming

It’s almost the end of year 2011, and I would say that it’s a “fruitful” year for us. Firstly, kids changed into a new school and they love it. Then we bought our first condo in Bangkok, but it’s still not completed yet. :P Talk about efficiency!

The biggest event would be Thai Flood 2011, which has totally “screwed” up our lives for almost 2 months. Looking back, I would say that it made me realize that I don’t need that many pairs of shoes to survive! LOL! Just kidding. I really lost 95% of my shoes in the flood. :P

Most flood victims have returned home by now and it’s all about cleaning back and trying to get back to normal life. Life goes on.

With Christmas just around the corner, I’m in a jolly mood again. As much as I haven’t started preparing the gifts (how late, I know!), but it should be able to be done this weekend. No 2012 gamestop coupons for my kids but I’m going to get them some new toys. Our condo is not ready for the Christmas tree but it’s all about being together as family, as soon as my kids are back from their holiday in M’sia!

For the first time in 3 years, I didn’t prepare Christmas bento. :)

Upside down

Honestly, I feel like life has gone upside down since the flood and it’s not easy getting back to our normal lives, especially since we have relocated and living out of suitcases. But then again, we are way much lucky comparing to most flood victims, so we should be grateful about it.

As the water is flowing towards Bangkok, there is a slight decrease of water level in northern Bangkok but it’s not enough to make things easy for us yet. Especially since I still have a lot of work permit documents procedure which can’t be done due to the closure of certain government offices!!! Should I just use spongeables scrub to help them to clean up to get my permit? Argh…

Luck

I had just being told about my lack of luck this year, and it seems like I won’t be getting any big projects or fitting any big goal until some time later. Of course, I’m not 100% superstitious but it left a negative impact on me now that I know about this. :( Actually, the sifu came in the office for a praying ceremony and just told us about our luck all in a group. So, obviously everyone knows everyone’s luck now. :P

It seems like most of the staffs with Database Administrator Jobs in this building don’t have good luck. LOL! So, it’s not a good year hoh? :P

Eat too much!

Ever since I’ve started yoga again, I have been eating more than I used to normally! If I keep eating at this rate, I might need to get myself a dress plus size soon! No joke!

So, it’s time to watch my food intake, even if I feel so hungry after a yoga session. I’m going back to exercise to stay fit and slim, but not to gain weight!

Still in reno

Last night, hubby and I went to check out the condo for the first time, since the renovation started a week ago. And oh boy, judging from the mess and debris, it’s more complicated that we thought! We definitely can’t move in by early October, so we will have to delay for another month.

That gives me some time for packing, but we are yet to get an extension from the landlord. Fingers crossed that the house won’t be sold and transferred so fast! :P

On the other hand, we should be glad that it’s a condo, so renovation won’t be affected much by the rainy season. It’s raining a lot lately, and some parts of northern Thailand have flooded.

My kids are packing jackets to school too, just in case they need it on chilly days. My boy’s jackets are pretty small now so it’s time to shop for children’s clothing again. Only for my boy but not for my gal. Her wardrobe is bursting and she will only get new clothes after we move.

Hopefully, the renovation will be completed without much hiccups.

Otherwise, we are going to have to start looking for some hotel coupons.

Kick Start

The long talked about renovation is starting soon. I will have to finalized the interior by next Monday, and hopefully, the design will turn out well for our small little loft. Honestly, I only care about the kitchen, which I think it’s not big enough. :( But with our limited space, we can only go for simplicity, and I won’t be having my ideal kitchen island. *sob sob*

There won’t be a bath tub in the unit too, so I can forget about soaking up in hot bath with rose petals and bath salts in my little loft. Sigh… But one thing for sure, cleaning up place will be much easier due to its size.

Hiatus

I’m taking a break from kyaraben this week because I have been pretty busy! But there is another reason too, I’ve dropped my camera and it’s under repair for a week now. I was devastated when I found that I might have lose my camera and was thinking of upgrading. :P But since my ATM prefers to save bucks for our condo renovation, he suggested that we try getting it fixed first. Luckily, the local Nikon service center can help so I hope that it will be back this evening as good as new. If not, I might get some pse compound bows and shoot someone!!! Just kidding.

It’s just that I need my camera for my kids’ performance at school for the next 2 days. I must have my toy back!

Renewal Time

It’s time to renew my car insurance again. How time flies. I’m asking around if I can get a better quote from other companies, even if the existing one had faxed me the quotation. If only there is a compilation of local auto insurance here, something like http://www.wholesaleinsurance.net/. That will make things easier for me instead of calling and asking for the quotation from various companies.
