Stressful Days

I’m very busy in Bangkok and I tend to lose my temper on my kids too. They are really driving me up the wall, but come to think about it, they might be having a hard time getting adjusted just like I do. Besides that, they are following us to work and their routines are all messed up, so it’s understandable that they are getting very fussy.

I think I really need some herbal supplement like kava to reduce my stress and improve my health. I can’t fall sick now and I need to keep my cool. It’s bad scolding and lecturing my kids all the time, so I have to control myself better now.

Kids, I’m sorry that I yelled.

Kids at Work

Hubby and I talk a lot about what and how are we going to help our kids in getting adapted in Bangkok later. We need to start a new business there, but we know that it’s not a good idea to send them to preschool so soon. We want them to get used to the new environment and learn some basic Thai language and culture before going to school in the following month. So, they will be going to work with us at our office.

I’m not sure if hubby can concentrate on doing his job, but for the time being, we don’t have other option. They will have to follow us everywhere we go until they are ready for school. Luckily, we are not some California auto insurance agents and I will be working at the office most of the time, so my kids can just stay there with me until I finish work. If both of us have to be out and about all day long, I don’t think my kids can take it.

In short, it’s always hard in the beginning, but I know we will get used to it and things will be better soon.

Counting Down…

My kid woke up yesterday and told me that he’s not going to school anymore. He’s going to Bangkok school later once we move there. It seems like both my children are mentally prepared to shift to another country and start fresh again in a foreign land. They have been there before, but a vacation is totally different from relocation.

One thing for sure, I’m going to be very busy initially and I wonder if I will lose more weight this time. Most of my friends said that I am getting slimmer, so it sounds like something good to me. LOL! At least I won’t have to spend money on Hydroxycut Max or any expensive slimming program huh?

We are counting down to the day we fly. It’s just around the corner…

Sick Easily

I fell sick twice for the past 2 months and I hardly fall sick before this. I must be really tired for the traveling and preparation, my immune system is not working as good as before. Thus, I sleep early these days, and if I have late nights, I try my best to take a nap with my kids. They are really clingy to me anyway, so I might as well just sleep in early with them.

Besides that, I haven’t been exercising. I stopped going to yoga and belly dance due to our moving plan. We have some exercise equipments and one of those boring treadmills at home, but I hardly use them. I’m not so interested in home gym because it’s boring to me. And my kids will definitely join in the fun before I can even sweat anything one. LOL!

So, what’s the best exercise for me? I think it’s just playing with the kids outside in the evening. When they run, I run. When they jump, I jump. I missed having a lot of fun when I was away, so it’s time to make it up to them now.

Sunny Days

I know that it’s really hot these days, and the hot weather is making some kids fall sick easily too. But over at my place, the mosquitoes are lesser now and my kids are play freely outside without the repellent. They have always been using the mosquito repellent since they are babies as there are a lot of mosquitoes in our area and there are incidents of dengue fever too.

But since they have recovered from their fever, they enjoy playing outside with their cousins. It’s nice to see them playing and running actively without the fear of getting bitten by mosquitoes. At least my gal’s skin is not having an outbreak anymore.

Too bad we don’t have teak outdoor furniture here, if not I would really enjoy knitting outdoor while watching the kids. Don’t you just love the sun?

Recovering From Fever

My kids have been having fever for 3 days but they are doing better now. It’s so worrying and tiring for any parents if their children are sick. I know that I shouldn’t be complaining a lot as comparing to the children and parents in Sichuan, what I’m going through is nothing.

Right now my kids are playing happily with their father outside the house, and that means they are almost recovered. It’s nice to see them getting back to their old selves instead of being tiring and grumpy for the past few days.

I think there are a lot of kids who are falling sick lately, so it’s best to be more careful about this. If your kid is not feeling well, let him stay at home and rest for a few days. Some schools are fully air-conditioned and it’s not good for a sick kid or other kids in the same class. Unless there’s an exam or anything important, home rest is the best.

I’m glad that tomorrow is a public holiday so that my boy can still rest for another day. He should be fit for school on Tuesday.

Juggling Between Kids and Work

Hubby said that he won’t be able to hire me now, but I will still help him out with the new business. I’m not asking for any salary and why would a wife be asking from her husband who’s starting all over? LOL!

Nonetheless, I will still follow him to the office in Bangkok and our kids will come along for the first month. We have decided not to enroll them into preschool until they settle down. It’s a shocking experience to them, considering that we are planning to send them to a bilingual Thai preschool first. Our first priority is for our kids to pick up Thai fast since most of the local people only speak in Thai.

But my concern is how can we concentrate on our work when the kids are around? Thus, I have to plan their time well. There will be reading time, play time, snack time and “kacau papa” time through out the day. That means I have to prepare a simple schedule and things to bring along to the office. We are setting up a room as nursery so that they don’t be disturbing the other staffs and their daddy.

I thought of just watching over the kids at home, but hubby is not convinced about this. He said the kids will have more fun at the office instead of confining in the house all day long. He does have a point. Besides that, I can learn to juggle the kids and work just like other mothers. Maybe I need some time to get used to the transition from a SAHM to a working mother now, so let’s see how I can manage. At least it’s our own business and I’m not working in selling used cisco or anything else. So, it should be more flexible.

I might be blogging lesser start from next month, but if I need to rant, I still know where to go. LOL!

Back At Home

I finally saw my kids after 2 weeks and they were so glad to see hubby and me. They wanted to be carried by us once we arrived at the airport, and since then, they are so clingy to us! LOL! I know that they will continue to be as sticky as possible until they are convinced that we are back and not leaving again. We plan to bring the kids over on the next trip so I guess there won’t be another separation soon.

When we went to bed last night, my little gal wanted all of us to sleep in the same bed. It’s a bit cramp for all of us, but we still did it for her. She’s a bit confused with long separation from me since I’m always be there for her until recently where I need to fly to Bangkok more. But I think she will be fine after a few days, as usual.

I really admire those mothers who travel a lot and still manage to handle their kids well. I think my kids are not used to it yet, and so am I. Nonetheless, I’m glad to be back home now.

What’s Your Mother’s Day Gift?

I asked hubby if there’s a Mother’s Day gift for me, on behalf of our kids who are still too young to buy anything by themselves. Hubby suggested that I wait for a few more years before thinking about getting a gift on Mother’s Day. How annoying! LOL! Actually, I wasn’t expecting much, but I’m curious to know if he will ever prepare one. I know that some fathers to prepare for their wives and I think it’s sweet.

Most of us are not hoping to get anything fancy, but of course, please don’t get anything like electrical products at best buy even if one can always find a best buy at www.buy.com. Just get something that will please a mother well.

So, what do you receive on Mother’s Day?

Happy Mother’s Day

It was Mother’s Day yesterday, but I’ve almost forgotten about it. I’m away from my mother and MIL, and my kids are not here as well, so there wasn’t any celebration for us. Maybe we will try to have a dinner later when we get back and have a late celebration.

I have always tried my best to avoid the crowded on some special days as the restaurants are pretty crowded. Besides that, we prefer to do on other day so that we don’t have to pay more for lousy food or slow services. How petty huh? LOL!

Anyway, Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers.
