Morning Juice

MIL used to make us juice every morning. She would mixed a few types of fruits and add some sea salt in the blender, and let everyone have a cup before breakfast. She won’t use a juice maker because she wanted us to drink the fiber as well. I’m not sure why she prefer sea salt, not those deadsea salt, but just normal sea salt which she bought from organic shop. But it does make the juice tastes nicer some times.

I should have started this at home too. Wait till we move to our new place first, then I will try my best to make our daily juice.

Eating Healthily

I gained some weight after coming back from Malaysia. I couldn’t help it, how can I resist all the good hawker food back home? The only thing I missed having was laksa. I was too busy and couldn’t squeeze time to have it at my favorite stall in Air Itam, Penang.

Now that I’m back to Bangkok, I’m watching my diet again until I shed off some weight. I’m not taking m drol but trying to eat healthily and sensibly.

Pills

I hardly swallow pills, in fact, I hate taking pills, including vitamins. But I try my best to take them once in a while to clear off the stock piling in my cabinet!

As for medication, I only take those prescribed by doctors if necessary. Little that I know that Accutane can be rather dangerous, so if you are suffering from the injuries caused by taking Accutane, you can file up an Accutane Lawsuit against the manufacture, at this law firm. Gastroenteritis and Bronchitis

I’ve just spent the last 4 days with my gal at the hospital. She was admitted for gastroenteritis and bronchitis, so it’s a dreadful experience for us. I guess I’ve caught the bugs from her as well and I felt so sick the night before she was discharged. Hubby had to drive me home for a rest and he watched Isabelle at the hospital, and Justin spent the nights there as well.

I know that I should be resting at home, but my work load is piling up over the few days, and I have to be at office this morning to clear some stuffs. Sorry that there won’t be any bento today, even my boy was surprised that I didn’t pack him anything. LOL! My gal is resting at home with the babysitter, and it’s way much better than her tagging along with me.

After I’m done with my work, I need to go grab some grocery, and buy fresh fish. My gal is still on semi solid, so fish porridge works better as her diet now. I wish that I can just order fish online after checking through Seafood on Wikipedia, that will definitely save up some time! Oh well, this type of service is not available on the land of smiles, so I better finish up my work faster and drop by the supermarket.

Thanks for all those comments in my Facebook. My gal is recovering well. :)

Insurance

Hubby and I can’t seem to agree on everything. Maybe it’s like the saying, the opposite attracts?  As much as I’ve reminded him to get the kids insured here, he just cannot be bothered. So, we had just spent a huge amount of money on my gal’s hospitalization and medication when she’s admitted last week.

I already got an insurance agent to show us the medical plans, and it’s all within our budget. But hubby decided to delay, and now he’s paying more than the insurance coverage! It’s not like we need any disability appeal insurance, which can only be done by certain health care provider such as Allsup, getting an expatriate insurance is not as hard as it seems.

I hope that he won’t delay this any further.

Insurance

2 weeks ago, SIL brought her insurance agent to our office and gave me a briefing of a new policy for my kids. Frankly, I think that the insurance coverage is good enough but not the saving plan.

Since my kids are going back to school next week, I would prefer to delay getting this new plan. The main thing about getting back to school is, it’s time to pay the school fees for the new term! Oh boy, hubby’s wallet will shrink again, so we might not be getting our new insurance policies so soon. I’m aware that we had just spent some money on hospitalization when the kids were ill, but it’s still alright to fork out our own money, instead of getting an insurance claim. Anyway, it’s not that we are not going to get group life insurance quotes for all of us, hubby just wants to postpone it again. :P

Health

I’m not one of those who take my health for granted, but most of the time, I hardly pay much attention to what I eat or if I have exercise regularly. I know that I’m quite busy most of the time, so I always have an excuse that I don’t have enough time to take a good care of myself.

But after all 4 of us got sick lately, I think I should really watch my health. As a mother, I really can’t afford to fall sick. I must keep myself in utmost condition so that I can take good care of my kids and hubby. I Google and read so much about influenza and fever fit lately, and I even found out about Multiple Sclerosis. Ok, not that anyone I know has it, but there is no harm reading about Ms Symptoms and Ms Diet. Even reading up another illness or 2 will not be wasting too much of my time, but I learn something useful.

It’s been a hard 2 weeks for all of us. Nursing everyone back to health is my main priority now. After that, I hope that the kids will gain back the weight they have lost over the days when they were ill. Gosh, both of them are so skinny now.

Influenza A virus

I thought I would have a busy working week, but things are not going the way I’ve planned. Hubby was sick, and then my boy got sick too. He was infected by influenza A virus and had very high fever since Sunday. Hubby brought him to the hospital on Monday morning while I had to rush to an important appointment. Of course, we didn’t expect that it’s influenza A, until the doctor did the test and confirmed the result. He was admitted immediately and his temperature was beyond 39.5 most of the time.

I rushed back as soon as possible and packed some clothes for him and me. I arranged to get my gal to stay at my office under the care of my SIL and office maid before heading to the hospital. In short, everything happened very fast, but thank god we had a lot of help from the people around us. At least I don’t have to tag my gal along to the hospital with me! She might be infected too as she’s feverish now, but I shall monitor her closely.

My boy spent a night at the hospital, being measured every 4 hours but his temperature didn’t drop below 39 deg. Needless to say, he had to be str*pped and sponged each time his temperature was taken during his 24 hours stay. Gosh, hubby and I were basically up all night long, but the nurses were great. He’s in a very good care indeed.

This morning, his temperature dropped to 38.4 and he’s allowed to be discharged. At first hubby was wondering how much the medical fee and hospital fee will be since we don’t have expatriate insurance coverage here, no matter how many times I asked him to check the available option from any agent or www.wholesaleinsurance.net. *roll eyes* But then, it’s quite affordable for a single room stay because hubby didn’t mention a word about the bill after making the payment. LOL! With hubby and I staying together with our boy, we needed a single room. :P

Anyway, it’s not really about the money spent. It’s more about getting our boy the medical help he needed. We shall monitor him at home, and I’m crossing my fingers that my gal will be fine.

Air Bed

I’m making a habit of tugging in early these days, and I feel way much better in the morning. Even if I might get drowsy after a heavy lunch, but I know that I’ve got enough sleep in the night, and I don’t easily get tired after a long day. Of course, my daily coffee helps a lot too. LOL!

Previously, I don’t care much about the bed we bought. I would normally check our budget first, then try to find the best deal we can get. I might try lying on it and as long as the mattress supports me well, I would just pick that. :P

Thus, pardon me that I’ve only known about air bed today. :P If you are interested in getting one, check out the Sleep Number Bed Comparison, as comparing to SelectAir Bed. The price different is about 40% cheaper, but you are not compromising in terms of quality.

Check out this Adjustable Air Bed buying guide to get a better idea how to purchase one too. You can actually get a free trial of the air bed for 15 days, before deciding if you should buy one. Now, why didn’t I get this trial offer when I purchased all my beds from the store?

Picky Eaters

Some mothers thought that my kids are not picky with food, oh how I wish! They are very picky with veggie, and the only green vegetable which they like is broccoli. I have to modify the way I cook the greens so that they are willing to have some at meals. My boy loves veggie soup, and it’s quite easy to be prepared. As for my gal, she sticks to blanched broccoli and carrots.

I hope that they will love greens more, so I’ve always told them they veggies are great for their skin and health. Hubby will joke that if they don’t take as much greens as he did last time, they will end up having ugly complexion like daddy’s. LOL! Even the best acne cleanser can’t help during teenage years.

Too bad that this advice only works once in a while. So, I’m still working on encouraging my kids to love eating greens!
