There are a few hospitals here in Ipoh, and most of my friends prefer to give birth in private hospitals. One of my friend’s colleague had just given birth at one of the private hospital, but there were only two patients there in the whole maternity ward. But I felt safe staying there. The disadvantage was you can hardly rest if you don’t have a private room. There will always be visitors around who’s visiting the new mothers or newborn babies.

The hospital which my SIL went to in Bangkok even provides weight loss programs to new mothers who want to lose weight and get back in shape faster. She didn’t take the program as it was quite expensive. So, if I’m going to have number 3 again and if I’m giving birth in Bangkok, I will go for the program. Just imagine losing the baby fat without lots of effort huh? That would be something great for me. LOL!

I haven’t seen my gynae for some time. The last time I went to his clinic was a few months ago for pap smears test. Like some women, I don’t feel like seeing my gynae most of the time, unless it’s necessary. If I need to find out more about woman health issues.

I suddenly realized that it’s been so long since my last breast self examination, so I better get it done after my period ends. That’s how I remind myself as our breasts tend to be swollen during menstruation, so it’s best do it the examination on other days as long as you remember to do so. My mother was a breast cancer patient, but she survived. It’s been about 10 years since her mastectomy, and she’s doing well now.
