The Lil Caliph

I love shopping for my kids. Before I became a mom, I was a shopping queen, buying stuffs for myself mostly. But now, I spend a lot on my kids! I love buying stuffs for them both from the stores, and also only web stores. I’m glad that The Lil Caliph has chosen to be featured on my blogs, including this mothering corner I write mostly about breastfeeding, baby care and motherhood.

I am still a moo to my 1 year old baby girl, and she doesn’t show signs of weaning off yet. I guess I will still be a moo for some time, but I stopped pumping for 2 months already. I’m staying at home most of the time, and if I’m out at my centre, she will be supplemented. It’s only lately that she stopped rejected formula milk.

But for all new mom, I would suggest that you check out the breastpumps featuring at The Lil Caliph. Even if you are a stay at home mom like me, you might need to use one and store up the milk sometimes, unless you are comfortable with hand expressing. Personally, I have both Avent ISIS and Medela Mini Electric. I love these 2 pumps, and I would recommend them to all new moms. I haven’t tried out Spectra, but from the breastfeeding forum, I know that it’s quite popular too.

If you are expecting, you can start shopping for maternity and nursing bras too. But you don’t need to get too many as your breast size will change throughout the pregnancy. Just get 2 pieces and measure yourself every month. I found that by changing my maternity bras every now and then during my pregnancy, I felt more comfortable. My bra size changed from 34B to 36D by the time I was about to pop. If I didn’t change my bra, I think I would be suffocating! LOL! But if you cup size didn’t change that much, you can consider getting some bra extenders. I bought a few of those, and I would recommend them too as our breast size will still be changing after delivery, and only by the time our milk production equalized with baby’s demand, then our breast size will be stabilized until we wean off our babies.

If you feel awkward nursing in public, a nursing shawl or nursing all-in-1 will be a good item to get too. They will be handy for new mothers who are not comfortable with the idea of nursing in public. Furthermore, not all the places we go have baby nursing room. So, it will be a good buy, or a nice gift for new mothers who have intention on breastfeeding their babies.

There are a lot more items featured on the site, but what I am really looking forward to get is those nice robeez shoes. I hope they will have the shoes as soon as possible so I can get one for my walking toddler.

To Promote Breastfeeding Gadgets

Even if I stopped pumping now, but I still like to find out about all the latest breastfeeding gadgets like breastpumps, coolbags, techni ice, and etc. Some of the items can’t be bough from the stores yet, and I bought most of my stuffs online. I guess a lot of working mom would like to breastfeeding, but they do not know where to get the right gadgets.

So, I think if the merchants have a complete lists of potential customers such as expecting mothers from Telemarketing Lists Broker, they can get a more comprehensive database of consumers. These telemarketers will help them to promote their latest gadgets, let them know about the latest enhance features, and may even tell them about freebies which come with promotion. Since they can target only expecting mothers, the chances of getting the gadgets sold will be higher than any random advertising method.

So, mommies, don’t you wish to hear from Avent or Medela? :)

Nursing Clothes

Jazzmint asked if the top I was wearing above was a nursing blouse, well, it’s not! :) It’s a long flowery blouse which I pair up with leggings or jeans.

Before I gave birth to Justin, I was worried about nursing in public as I hadn’t seen many mothers doing so. That’s why I bought a few nursing blouse in ready when I was pregnant. Most of the nursing blouses I bought are from Motherneeds, Moms In Minds, The Baby Loft, and Mothers En Vogue.

My favourite ones are those from Mothers En Vogue. Here are a few pieces of the nursing tops I bought from them:

But after Isabelle came along, I didn’t buy much. I began to shop for clothes which can be worn as nursing tops. Most of the time, I will buy some tops with a big V opening in front, like the one shown below:

Top with deep V cut

Then, I will pair the top with a tube or tube bra, like this:

So, when I want to nurse, I’ll just lift up the tube inside, without having to lift up the top. It’s really more convenient than some of the nursing tops I have. You can give it a try! BTW, even if you are not nursing, this see-through lacy blouse will also look hot with a tube bra, won’t it? :)

But if you are good at sewing, why not making your own nursing tops? Too bad I’m not good at this, I’d rather shop! :P
