Learning to bake

I’m a baking idiot. Don’t let some of my bentos fool you! 4 years ago, I couldn’t even cook, let alone baking. But I learned and gradually improve in cooking, and it’s a satisfaction in feeding my kids and hubby.

Last weekend, hubby got me a new oven. My old oven was destroyed in last year’s flood, and I have been using a small toaster oven until now. With a new oven available, I should try to bake more, and hopefully will be able to make my own bread and cake one day and reduce from buying. *fingers cross*

These are what I did for the past 2 days and packed some for the bentos:

Pikachu home made egg tart bento copy
Decorated egg tart as Pikachu which is simple and quick.

Hokkaido chiffon cupcakes bento copy
Hokkaido chiffon cupcakes, without the icing sugar to eliminate mess and I removed the cupcake liners before packing.
