Pikachu Chicken Balls Bento
My boy requested to have Pikachu in his Pikachu bento box last night and I was so thrilled about it! I’ve always wanted to fix Pikachu, but my kids are not so familiar with him. Furthermore, I saw a lot of Pikachu bentos at some Japanese blogs lately, and I’m so “gatal” to try. LOL!
So, this is my boy’s Pikachu bento:
I prepared some chicken balls this morning and packed 2 for my boy. The chicken balls are decorated as Pikachu, but too bad it’s not the right color. It looks like Pikachu has got a tan after sunbathing. LOL! The ears were cut from smoked cheese with an exacto knife and I stacked 2 slices of cheese together to make the ears thicker so that I could pin them to the chicken ball with spaghetti strips. I placed a layer of nori below the cheese (cut exactly like the shape of the ears) to avoid it from melting fast. The eyes were cut free hand too since I don’t have the right size of puncher.
I didn’t fix Pikachu for my gal because she doesn’t like frozen meat. Besides that, she said she just wanted to more fruits especially strawberries today.
So, maybe I will fix Pikachu for her next time.

Wow.. i really salute you leh…you realli can make use of whatever you have to come up with such a cute bento items….. I can’t even think of using those frozen chIcken balls to make “Pikachu”…. although the colour a bit tan…but it’s so Cutteee…. :p
Ellena, how to fry chicken balls and still make the color lighter? LOL! I just pack whatever we have at home or what I buy the day before. I guess my kids won’t mind much, as long as there is something cute in their bentos, even if it’s not too perfect.
Pretty. Now I know where to get ideas for my wedding bento. I think I remembered seeing a fish nugget somewhere.
Starting shopping today for the wedding bento for Saturday. I’m planning to get some sushi from sushi king and just put some decorations on top.
