Wow! Super cool bento! I'm so not showing these bentos to my boy, or he'll be requesting the same. All he's been getting were sandwiches and CNY cookies, with no deco... haha. Besides being creative, you are also the most hardworking mom. *kowtow*

Ellena, the yolk and rice, you try a small portion first because I'm not sure if every kid will like the taste. My gal mixed the rice with her soup, so it's OK to her. Furthermore, she's not really fond of egg. :P But the yellow rice will be very nice for Pooh!

Allthingspurple, it's pretty easy cutting the cheese with toothpick, give it a try. :) I tried giving my gal raw veggie, but still, she rejects. Sigh...

Javapot, I did the simple rangers, very "cheating" type. LOL! If you have time, try to do the whole body. The Japanese mothers will trace the whole body on tracing paper, then slowly cut out the body parts bit by bit with cheese, or ham. Then, slowly put the parts back into place. I know, it sounds very time consuming. :P

Wow… the self sketch with the toothpick and knife on the cheese is exactly like how Aichigo's and the Japanese moms’ tutorial taught us. Is it difficult and time consuming to prick the cheese to cut it with the toothpick? I haven’t tried out this trick yet. Those Japanese moms are really fantastic, aren’t they? I really love learning from them.. Kudos for making the effort, Amy ! This bento must have taken a lot of work with the sketching , and the cutting with the toothpick, not to mention the eggs. Great bento! Keep it up! Wish my kids would egg the yolk rice ball though. Gave them once and both rejected it. sigh..

As for your request on tips on how to get your kids onto vegetables, some kids like vege raw, cos they like to crunch. At least mine does.Ashley and Kimberly likes their bento carrots and tomatoes raw, but not for stir fried vegetables for dinner. If you haven't tried this already, perhaps some raw carrots or zucchini?
