Bento#48
We went to Thai immigration today to get our visas, and I fixed my kids a simple bento as snacks in the car. Luckily, my dad doesn’t mind about my kids eating in his car as it can be quite messy. I don’t think the car insurance covers the irremovable mess on the seats huh?
My kids requested Mickey and Minnie blueberry jam sandwiches, some corns and oranges. It’s very hard to buy Sunkist oranges in Bangkok! To minimize the wasted part, I cut the white bread with smaller Hello Kitty cutter.
I found that it’s harder for me to pack food for my kids, especially if I don’t do the grocery shopping on my own and only depend on the food at my mom’s place. Maybe I’m just not creative in packing “existing” food.
Another thing is, I hardly pack oranges, and even if I did, I don’t cut them into smaller pieces. My kids took their bentos rather late, and I found that the sandwiches had citrus smell when they opened their lunch boxes. My boy didn’t finish the bread as he doesn’t like the smell. So, I have to take note on this if I pack oranges again.
