Be Careful with Bumbo Seat

I have a Bumbo which I bought when my boy was starting on solid. MIL preferred us to feed him on the ground than using the high chair since the other kids at home at some accidents falling off the high chair before. But this article showed that Bumbo may not be that safe, if you use it wrongly.

I saw a lot of parents using Bumbo by placing it high up. Even the ads on some parenting magazines showed that as well, if I’m not mistaken. It was one of those Bumbo gathering where a few parents going out with babies and their Bumbo.

So on the safe side, please follow these safety precaution when using the seat:

• Don’t let your child sit in the baby seat unattended, and don’t use the seat on a table, countertop, chair, or other elevated surface.

• Contact Bumbo if you’d like to receive a new warning label and instructions. The new warning label will say: WARNING — Prevent Falls; Never use on any elevated surface.

Thanks for posting those reminders. Any parents interested in learning more about Bumbo safety can visit http://www.bumbosafety.com where they can immediately download new warning stickers and instructions. There is a percentage of Bumbo owners (our survey indicates about 12 percent) that did not know their baby can get out of the Bumbo. They can, so close parental supervision is an absolute must. I am a representative of the manufacturer.

Dan Keeney, Thanks for dropping by. I used to be a Bumbo user too. Hopefully those parents read about the safety tips before using Bumbo in the most appropriate way. Thanks for the link as well.
