Millions of Questions

My boy is going to be 3 in the next two months. He’s very curious about things around him and he keeps asking questions. I will be glad to answer him most of the time, but sometimes, I have to admit that he’s annoying. :P At times when I just want to get things done urgently and he’s asking me a million questions about a lizard, wah seh, my patience is greatly challenged. But I try to be positive about this and keep telling myself to provide as much as possible. Even if he has not gone into more complicated questions like how to get real estate franchise or what is a business or anything like that, we have gone some part of the bees and hives and he seems to understand where baby comes from now. Luckily, I have the pictures for that!

So, if you are wondering how can you help you kids during this curiosity and knowledge seeking stage, here are some suggestion if you kid is about the same age as mine:

Curiosity Yardstick

* At age 2 children’s curiosity, coupled with growing agility and strength, allows them to seek out objects and manipulate them in a variety of ways. Provide a child-friendly environment, including easy-to-reach shelves from which he can select a number of safe, multifaceted toys. And allow your child to explore without constant intervention.

* At age 3 1/2 preschoolers increase investigations of their world by using newfound motor skills. Offer manipulatives, such as pattern blocks, snap-together building pieces, and large-piece puzzles, so your child can sharpen the physical and mental skills required to satisfy his curious nature.

* Around age 5 physical abilities explode; kids run faster, jump farther, and climb higher than ever before. Find play structures that let your child climb, swing, pull, and pounce. Make sure play areas are padded with rubber to allow for safe interaction and exploration.
