A Kitchen Is A Woman’s Territory
I was getting some books at the book store this afternoon and I came across the recipes section. I stopped buying recipes for a very long time since I don’t cook much, except preparing for the kids. It’s not hard to prepare their meals but I don’t have much variety. Luckily, it’s only as frequent as once a week (the most!) so I don’t have to crack my head thinking about what to cook.
My mother said she had never been in the kitchen before until she’s married to my dad. It’s a basic instinct. Every woman will know how to cook well one day. Most of them will do it for the kids, if not for the husbands. So, I felt better about that. LOL! I blamed it on her for not letting me in the kitchen when she’s cooking, so I have no idea what cooking is. It’s a joke only my mom and I will understand.
But one thing for sure, a kitchen is a woman’s territory, only one ruler per kitchen. So, since the kitchen is occupied by MIL, I will have to get my own outdoor kitchen if I am serious about cooking. She doesn’t like anyone to mess up her kitchen, and so does my mom. How about you?
