Recognizing the Beds

I considered myself very lucky because my kids are highly adaptable. Oh well, no choice for them as we travel a lot even if it’s only interstates more of the time. They don’t recognize the beds like some of the kids I know where they need a lot of time to get adjusted to new environment. My kids are those who just sleep like pigs when they are tired. LOL!

They don’t care if it’s Powell furniture or just a plain mattress, they can just sleep easily if both hubby and I are around. I guess we are giving them enough assurance to get some good night sleeps. I didn’t bring my boy’s comforting bolster along to Bali, but luckily he was doing well. I was taking the risk of him whining for it, but he didn’t. Thank god!

I’m a Lousy “Mapper”

I’m not good at remembering route. When I was designing the brochures for my learning center, I had to come out with the map of the location of my center, and I had to go out physically to check out all the road names and landmarks. Even if the address was listed, but it couldn’t not be easily found. If I know about MapPoint 2008, I might learn how to use it to create a proper mapping from a few major landmarks to my learning center. I only did it with spreadsheet and it was not easy to be done.

If you need to generate some maps, maybe MP2K Magazine and Map Forums should be what you are looking for. You can just discuss any questions about mapping at the sites, especially the forum. However, please take note that MapPoint 2008 will only be released in a few months.

So, ladies, do you remember the routes well? Or is it just me?

We Are Back

Yes, we are back. My worries about bird flu, plane ride, spicy food for my kids and others are all over now. They enjoyed themselves and so were we. But both hubby and I are not feeling well since we got back, maybe we have been too tired. Anyway, as long as the kids are doing fine, I should be more than glad.

But here’s the thing about being a mother, I’m sick but I’m still have to be kicking alive and act like nothing happens. I know my flu won’t go away if I don’t have enough rest, so I am going back to my mother’s place tomorrow, and she will help me out with the kids. Hopefully, I can catch some rest and recover faster.

I just want to be a mommy’s girl when I’m not feeling well…

Beach Vacation for the Family

From our trip to Bali, I noticed that not every kid will enjoy himself with the sand! My kids love the trip because we went sightseeing a lot. Besides, they got to see some monkeys, cows, houses, and make friends with a girl, who is the daughter of my friend.

But we didn’t spend a lot of time at the beach as my kids hate the sand. :P I just don’t understand why both of them hate to set their feet in it, even if it’s not their first time going to the beach. Sometimes, they like it, but there are times like this when they just won’t cooperate.

Anyway, hopefully they won’t act like this when we are going for beach vacation like Hawaii again. I just love the beaches! So I hope that my kids will love it too. If not, I don’t think we are fully enjoy the vacation in Hawaii that I have in mind, and we will be wasting money on the Big Island vacation rentals that we will be spending on! Gee, I wonder when can we truly experience Hawaii as described in Hawaiian Travel Blog…

We are Back!

We came back not long ago, but I had a hard time putting my kids back to sleep again. They had been sleeping in the coach from the airport to Ipoh, so I think they are very awake now. But it’s not a good idea having kids waking up at 1.40am huh?

Maybe they are very excited since we have only got back not long ago. Everyone of us enjoyed the trip very much, including my 16 months old gal. So, I guess Hawaiian vacations should not be a big problem in the future because they don’t have much problem traveling with flight and get themselves adjusted in new places and schedule.

I hope that all the Hawaiian Local Travel Information collected will be in used sooner than I planned. It’s nice to have family vacation as frequent as possible, if we have the time and money for it.

So, anyone misses me? :)

A Family Gathering…

When we were back to hubby’s aunty’s place that night, one of the relative accidentally mentioned her son who was a drug addict many years ago. He didn’t go for any drug treatment because hubby’s aunt was reluctant to send him in. During those years, the rehab didn’t have good facility as comparing to current condition. Furthermore, he was the only son in the family and like most Chinese family, the parents treated the only son the best.

It was the denial process that delayed the treatment and killed the young man indirectly. If they have sent him for any drug rehab like Watershed, he might still be alive right now. Luckily, hubby’s aunt has got over the grieve. But I could still see in her eyes that she missed her son a lot. It’s just too bad that she wasn’t aware how important a drug treatment can be.

Anyway, let’s hope that no one I know it’s getting into drugs again.

Great Mommies

It’s actually nothing special about breastfeeding. It’s just a natural ability that most women prefer not to do it for various reasons. But there are some mothers whom I admire a lot with their determination in providing the best milk to their kids.

She’s a frequent traveler. She shares a lot of her precious experience like how to transport EBM from oversea, how she managed to continue nursing despite long separation, and her determination in breastfeeding. Both our kids are about the same ages, and our girls share the same names, with different spelling though.

She’s been breastfeeding for as long as I know. It’s from her that I know about tandem nursing, but I couldn’t make it. She has been tandem nursing for all her kids, and I admire her so much!

BTW, both of the mothers are full time working moms, so if you are wondering how did they make it, hop over to their blogs.

Baby Activity Carpet

I knew in the beginning that my newborn babies will be sleeping with me because I planned to breastfeed them exclusively. However, so mothers prefer to have their babies sleep in a separate room and they will set up a nursery for the baby before her arrival. This is something that I missed because my kids are still sleeping with me from birth till now.

But if you have decided to have a nursery, don’t forget to get some cute baby activity carpet as your baby will grow up very fast, and before you know it, she has already started crawling on the floor. Thus, it is very important to make sure that the carpet is clean from dirt, spills, dust or other tiny particles that may be harmful for your baby. Besides that, a clean carpet will be more hygienic for little babies too!

So, if you are staying in Los Angeles or San Diego, you may consider getting the Carpet cleaning services from Quality Carpet Cleaning. This company has well trained Carpet cleaners that will perform their famous 5-step carpet cleaning method for you.

The 5 step Cleaning Process. Step 1: Dry Vacuuming removes sand, grit, hair and other loose particles. Step 2: Spot Removal dissolves most grease spills and spots. Step 3: Power Scrubbing dislodges embedded dirt and soil stuck in carpets. Stpe 4 Steam Extraction lifts out dirt, soap scum, and other residue. Step 5: Finishing Touches carpets fluffed, furniture replaced with pads.

Besides, they provide other services like Upholstery cleaning, drapery cleaning and pet odor removal too. If you are interested, please hop over to their official site for more information.

By the way, don’t you think this baby activity carpet is cute?

Blog Break?

I am going off very soon. Tonight, we will be catching the 4am bus to the airport and at this time tomorrow, I will be in Bali!!! Of course, my kids and hubby are coming along too. I’m not sure if I will be updating this blog since I still have some pending offers here. If I have the time, I will blog about them tonight, before I leave.

Anyway, after this trip, I hope to have another one to Hawaii. I have check out the offers from Hawaii home rentals for some time, and I am just wondering when will hubby have the time for another trip? Besides that, we have to work out the budget too even if Hawaii home rentals are affordable, we still need to spend on flights and food.

So, let me see when can be have a trip to Hawaii, hopefully it’s not too far away. As for now, we will be enjoying ourselves in Bali first. Sayonara ya?

P/S: Can’t guarantee that my itchy fingers can stop blogging for 4 days. :P

Challenging Parenting

A friend of mine has a teenager son who goes to private school. She told me that some of her son’s friends are bad influence to him, but she can’t stop him from seeing them. It’s a bit hard trying to control a teenager, especially one who are rebellious. I was a rebellious kid too, but I didn’t get myself into any trouble. I am very kiasi, so my parents didn’t have much problem with me.

But this boy is different. He will do anything to challenge his mom. She just hopes that he won’t get into things like drugs or stealing as the gang he is hanging out with are really notorious. He is still very young to know how to differentiate between right and wrong. So I told her to look for signs that he might get into drugs, and enroll him to any Drug Rehabs if he really is an addict. But most teenagers hate to be accused, so she has to approach this matter carefully.

Here’s the thing about challenging parenting huh? My kids are still young, but hopefully they will turn out to be fine.
