Breastfeeding a Toddler

I should stop calling my gal as baby. She’s a toddler now, and she has grown up a lot. She still nurses frequently especially when she sees me sit down in front of my laptop or trying to knit in the living room. I guess she knows that mommy is free, so better kacau her for a feed.

But there is a different in breastfeeding a toddler. Firstly, her curiosity level is much higher. Even if there is a letdown, she might just turn away and look for the sound of distraction, instead of satisfying her hunger. Then, she has “itchy hands” which touch or play with the other breast or my navel when she nurses. She knows how to give me a great smile as a token of appreciation after a feed, and that makes me feel so glad of being her milk source for so long.

She’s supplemented with formula milk again. This time, it’s chocolate flavored milk as she hates the normal milk. I’m still wondering how long will I be breastfeeding her, but I truly cherish these moments as I know it’s ending really soon.
