Don’t Compare

I admit that sometimes I will subconsciously comparing my children, like who’s talking first, who’s taking the first step earlier, who’s a better eater, and other developmental milestone. However, I constantly reminded myself that every kid is unique and learn at their own paces. Even if they may be produced by the same parents, that doesn’t mean they have to turn out like moulds.

I’m glad that I have a boy and a girl. Physically, they are born to be different. Thus, I have the mentality that they will always be different so just don’t compare. Even if when they are grown up and one maybe a successful doctor while the other one a struggling real estate broker, just let them be. As long as they are happy with their life, their careers, the paths that they choose, I can just do myself to be there for them.

So, whenever I’m blogging about their development milestone, I don’t check on their developments at the same age. Just let them be who they are. I will be happier and they will be the happiest kids in the world.
