Baby Allergy to Berries
I don’t feed my kids berries before they turn one. I have very sensitive kids that will have swollen lips or face when they take citrus fruits when they are younger. So, I have been more careful after a series of uneventful experience with my first born. Thus, I tried to delay introducing berries to my second one and things are doing fine so far.
It’s recommended that babies only started taking berries after 12 months old. If you see signs of food allergy like swelling of the tongue, lips, and face, skin rash, vomiting or diarrhea, you better bring your baby to paediatrician immediately. An allergy reaction can be fatal sometimes. On top of that, be careful when feeding berries as they are one of those choking hazards that should not be taking lightly, even if you are feeding at older toddler.
So, if you are thinking of feeding berries like Goji Berries, but you are worried about choking, get your kids some Goji Juice instead. At least they will still benefit from the nutrition of the fruit.
