Candida Infection

This topic was openly discussed on Channel 31 weeks ago. The gynecologist invited to the talk show said that she had a patient with serious Candida infection that have vagina discharge which looked like cheese. When I heard that conversation, I had goosebumps all over my back! I know it’s disgusting, but the women infected are not asking for this, ok? Maybe some of them didn’t have protective sex, or maybe their partners should have been blamed. No matter what the causes are, let just concentrate more on the treatments.

If you are experiencing some discomfort or burning sensation when urinated, and there might be some discharge from your vagina, please don’t take this lightly because they might be Candida symptom and you need to visit a doctor immediately for further inspection. Of course, don’t scare yourself. Just read up more information about Candida, and don’t worry, there are treatments available.

Mozzie Season

There are a lot of mosquitoes in my house since the raining season started 2 weeks ago. Basically, I’m worried about dengue because my area has been popular for having a high rate of dengue cases.

Thus, my kids are on mosquitoes repellent most of the time now. But the mozzies seems to have got used to the scent and still attacking them occasionally. Well, a few mozzie bites won’t hurt much. As long as the mozzies are not infected with any diseases, I won’t worry about the bites. But we can’t tell which one of the tiny creatures are infectious, right? So, the best thing is, KILL ALL OF THEM!

Contraceptions

I have been asked if I would have another baby soon. Frankly, I don’t mind having another baby, but to think of starting all over the sleepless nights, I think I better delay until my kids are much older. So, when I talked to my doctor about Birth control months ago, he suggested that I try IUD. But at the moment, I was not ready to get this, so he suggested that I discussed with hubby first.

Most of us will use some form of methods like Birth control methods, Mirena, Birth control pills, or condom. If you are wondering about the differences, the benefits or disadvantages of any of the birth control methods, you can refer to YourContraception.com for more information. I found that this site is very information because it covers almost all the birth control methods, for both women and men. I’m very interested to know if we can get those men contraceptive pills locally, but I doubt many guys are willing to take it.

On top of that, bear in mind that breastfeeding is not a highly successful form of contraception method. You may ovulate before you even have your menstrual, if there is still a possibility of getting pregnant even if you are breastfeeding exclusively.

I think I better visit my doctor again and talked to him further about contraception. Mirena sounds so much better than IUD.

Don’t Be Rude to Kakak

My kids are very nice to the kakak whenever I’m not around. But if I’m at home, they will make all sorts of nonsense with the maid. Maybe they just don’t want to be with her since mommy is at home, but I don’t like it when they are rude to the maid. I will definitely discipline them on the spot and ask them to apologize to the maid immediately. I know that it’s impossible for us not to have a maid now, so I have to teach my kids on respecting the maid, even if she may just be a domestic worker at home.

I have seen some spoiled brats who are rude to their maids. I’m not going to let my kids turn into some monsters like that.

Kids are Not Inconvenient

Since most of my friends and relatives know that I will be traveling with my kids soon, some of them are asking, why are we bring my 15 months old baby along? Don’t you think it is troublesome?

Well, firstly, if I think that she is troublesome, why am I bring her to the world in the first place? Besides, she’s 15 months old, not 15 days old. How can a 15 months old be too troublesome? She had her first plane ride at 5 months old and she was doing fine, or should I say all of us were doing fine!

By the way, kids are not dumb. Babies are very smart “creatures” that understand well what they are seeing, even if they cannot talk yet. If you bring them to Orlando vacation rental villas, by all means, they know that they are on vacation too. The environment is different, their routine may be affected and they will also learn how to enjoy a nice trip like this. Besides, if you worry about how your baby will cope with trips like this, stay in villas. Most villas are more homely than hotel rooms and the kids will have more space to wander about as well.

So, try to bring your kids for short trip as a start. Little kids may not be as inconvenient as you thought.

Don’t Underestimate SAHM

Firstly, I have to welcome Sasha for joining the fun of blogging for money. She has started monetizing her blog yesterday, and it’s a new start for her life as a SAHM too. Most people will think that SAHM are the same as si lai or wong men poh. But I tell you, most of us are earning 4 figures income per month, and making 5 figures is not impossible if you are willing to work hard for it.

Most of us have blogs and we make money from blog advertising. It’s one of the hottest money making solution these days that SAHM can take part while taking care of their duties at home. I have been doing this for the past 8 months that this is the best job to me so far. I have never had such great satisfaction as being a mother and my own boss before. So, if you still think SAHM are si lai, think again. Pss….some of us may earn more than you do, ok? :P

Don’t Compare

I admit that sometimes I will subconsciously comparing my children, like who’s talking first, who’s taking the first step earlier, who’s a better eater, and other developmental milestone. However, I constantly reminded myself that every kid is unique and learn at their own paces. Even if they may be produced by the same parents, that doesn’t mean they have to turn out like moulds.

I’m glad that I have a boy and a girl. Physically, they are born to be different. Thus, I have the mentality that they will always be different so just don’t compare. Even if when they are grown up and one maybe a successful doctor while the other one a struggling real estate broker, just let them be. As long as they are happy with their life, their careers, the paths that they choose, I can just do myself to be there for them.

So, whenever I’m blogging about their development milestone, I don’t check on their developments at the same age. Just let them be who they are. I will be happier and they will be the happiest kids in the world.

Kids on Motorbikes

There are lots of motorcycles on the road. I always try my best to be more careful with I’m driving near the bikes because I know how hurt it will be to get hit by a car and fall from a motorbike. I had an accident before many years ago, and it still scares me a lot.

I know that not everyone can afford a car. Some people have to get around in motorbikes and that is very common in Malaysia. But when I see the way little kids are being carried around on motorbikes, it freaks me out. How many times have you seen little baby being held in the mother’s arms who are sitting behind the rider? She can’t even hold on to the person in front because her arms are holding the baby. How stable and secure can she be?

So, I begin to understand why my parents were against the idea of me riding on a bike. But I was too rebellious and I wanted to give it a try. An accident and some scars gave me the lesson that I needed to bid sayonara to the bikes, and I prefer to enjoy the Auto air conditioning in my car now.

Photo Freak

I’m a photo freak. We are going to Bali next month and I wonder how many photos will I be taking for the trips? During my last family vacation, I took more than 200 photos in 5 days. Doesn’t that sound a lot?

But if I’m going for a vacation at Destin vacation rentals, I will definitely enter the WeNeedaVacation.com’s Summer Photo Contest. I won’t believe that I can’t find any nice photos of us having a holiday together. Those photos are precious family moments to me, and I am good at snapping nice shots!

Getting a photo that captures the “spirit of vacation” doesn’t sound too hard to me. All I need is just some nice smiles and great views as backgrounds. But my kids have to be cooperative because it is getting harder and harder to take their photos together. If my photo is chosen, I will stand a chance of winning the grand prize of $1,000 credit to be applied for any vacation rental booked through WeNeedaVacation.com. That sounds just nice! As long as we participate, and if our photos are chosen, this website will also donate $5 to the Association to Preserve Cape Cod (APCC) until up to $1000. So, it’s not only an ordinary contest. It’s a charity move too.

So, I have to get the photos done by September 3, 2007. If not, I will lose the chance. If only they accept vacation photos in Bali, that can be easily done.

Train Baby to Sleep

I was asked how I trained my kids to sleep, but frankly, I am not doing that well as well. If you read most of the parenting books, they will tell you that a good baby or child is well trained to sleep if only he can go to sleep ALL by himself. As for my kids, I have to nurse my toddler, let my boy hold my fingers, read to both of them at the same time until dunno for how long, then only they will fall asleep. :P

My kids cannot go to sleep by themselves. I was almost succeeded in training them to sleep for a few day where they would be playing on the bed and fell asleep together, but the routine was broken when hubby was back from his business trip. With daddy being in and out some days of the week, it is a bit hard to set the rules straight all the time. Hubby likes to spend some quality time with them, so I have to let them play with him for a while. Getting 2 excited kids to sleep doesn’t sound like an easy task, especially when they are too tired to fall asleep! My kids will cry when they are too tired. Gee…

So, I read all these advices on how to train baby to sleep, but I am a loser when it comes to this.
