First Aid for Choking

Isabelle is going through a stage where she likes to explore with her mouth. If I don’t watch her carefully, she will put anything tiny little thing in her mouth and chewing in it. I’ve caught her eating peddles, paper, erasers, Lego blocks, pencil leads, and etc. Most of the time, I will insert my fingers in her mouth to remove the stuffs, and she will bite on my fingers!

So far, she hasn’t choked on anything. But sometimes I worried that she will if I’m not watchful enough, or my maid is not watching her closely when I’m working out. Thus, I always remind her that no matter how busy she is, her main responsibility is to watch the kids when I’m not around. If I’m around, I prefer to take care of them by myself.

I attended a baby first aid course before, and learned how to remove foreign object from a baby who is choking. Frankly, I don’t wish to use it one day. But it’s better to get ourselves equipped with the knowledge.
