Car Seat

I bought my car seats for each kid before they were born. My plan was to put them in the car seat, right after we were discharged from the hospital.

For Justin, hubby didn’t install the car seat when we were out from the hospital. I was annoyed and asked him why. The reason was MIL said newborn babies are too young for car seat, furthermore Justin was swaddled, better just carried him home. I was very annoyed about it, but what to do? The car seat was not there, so I got to carry him all the way.

So, Justin only sat on a car seat at full moon, when we bought him out for some full moon package delivery. Before that, I carried him as MIL prohibited him from sitting in a car seat. In fact, none of my niece and nephews have car seats when they were babies! Justin’s the first! And they were so shocked that I was willing to spend so much money on a seat like that!

However, after Justin got adapted to car seat, everyone praised him how a good boy he is, sitting so obediently in the car. But they forgot about the “noises” they made initially. :P

The same goes for Isabelle. It’s a bit harder to get her buckled up in the car seat as she always uses nursing as an excuse to get out of it! Unless we are willing to let her cry her lungs out, most of the time, I surrender. So, I’m a bad mommy on this. I know we should have stop somewhere for nursing, but sometimes, it’s quite hard to do so on the highway. I really wonder who the westerners successfully enforce the kids to sit on the car seats since young? Any tips?
