Breastfeeding Positions
There are a few breastfeeding positions you can choose from, but I would recommend every mom to learn how to breastfeeding lying down when you are still at the hospital. It’s recommended to place the baby on the breast as soon as possible after delivery, and the best way of breastfeeding is lying down as you can still take a rest. But for C-sec moms, it’s a bit hard, so you need to get some help from the nurse, or breastfeeding in cradle position.
Personally, I like lying down position. It’s the most comfortable position to me, and I can catch some nap especially during night feeding. I was so worried at first that I might fall asleep and hurt the baby, so I tried to stay alert in the first weeks. But after a while, I got too tired, I fell asleep before knowing when baby had done and only woke up for the next feeding!
However, there are also some disadvantage. Justin was only willing to be breastfed lying down when he was younger, he refused to nurse in cradle form. So, I had lots of problem breastfeeding him when we were out. If I was in Parkson, the problem could be easily solved as I could lie down on the sofa and breastfeed him. If not, I’d do it in the car! See, that’s the extend I could go. LOL!
But it’s only temporary, after a new months, he’s will to be nursed in cradle form again.
Isabelle is not as picky as Justin, she’s really easy going. When she wants to nurse now, she’ll lie down and wail, as if telling me she wants to nurse. She’s so cute with her asking for milk expression! I thought her how to do “milk” in baby sign language, but she’s not interested. However, I know what she wants most of the time.
