Madam, Susu Tak Cukup
My maid is handling all my frozen expressed milk most of the time. She will bring out a frozen milk bag before Isabelle’s feeding time, thaw it under running water, pour out the milk into the milk bottle and heat it up with an Avent warmer.
I told her I’ll be going away for 4 days in April. So, she told me just now that my milk bank may not have enough stock for Isabelle to last for 4 days and 4 nights. Actually, I know about this already. I had bought a pack of formula milk, and placed it in the storeroom. I told her that she can try to supplement Isabelle with the milk, whenever necessary.
She will be turning one next month, so I have decided to start supplementing her with formula milk. She hasn’t started yet, so I’m not sure how she will take it. Anyway, it’s part of the weaning process. Since I don’t plan to wean her off so soon, I will still nurse her directly, but not pumping much.
I am still reluctant to wean her off. I know that one day she will need to be weaned off, but not so soon.

ya i agree with you on weaning part…take your time…do it slowly.
it’s such a special bond when u breastfeed that i also felt so reluctant to stop…but eventually also gotta stop la…when baby & u are ready…not when other kay-por tells u to! hehe
Ern vomitted very badly the first time when I introduced formula to her. Her stomach can’t cope. She vomitted so bad that we need to rush her to hospital.
If possible, introduce the formula milk now so that you can assess whether she suits brand A or other before you trip. It’s a trial and error thing. When a b/feed exclusive switch to formula, the first problem is the poo as b/milk is more diluted.
So, you can introduce 1 formula feeding a day, the rest of the feeding still on b/milk. That will help you to gauge.
Also, dilute the formula on the first week formula feeding to allow her stomach to cope with more oily milk…
Mommy of two angels, ya, you are right about those kay pohs!
Wooi Sin, poor Ern, how long does she take to get used to it? Last time, Justin was admitted to hospital too when he first started formula, got really bad rashes…
Yes, I will introduce formula showly, starts from next week. Thanks for the advice!
